PRIDE

PRIDE

There was once a Archer Who was so excellent and perfect in his Archery that he used to hit the Bulls Eye every single shot he hit on the target board. Every co-student in that Archery school used to praise him and everyday he does this to get people look at him and praise him. All these praise and applause by then had increased his pride and Attitude that nobody is perfect except him.

But once the Archer performed in front of his Master who was a very old Master. After hitting continuous 7 shots on the Bulls Eye he looked at his master with so much pride that he was so perfect. The master just walked away without saying a word. He ran to his master and asked why he didn’t appreciate. The Master Replied “You did good but need to improve a bit”. This was being a practice for the next few weeks.

One day this Archer decided to Quit and told his Master that he is not being recognized for what he does. So Master immediately agreed without any dissent and asked him to pack the bags and walk. He packed everything and started walking towards the Gate. By then he saw a small kid trying to even hold a Bow and Arrow and was playing with it. This Archer walked close to him and took the bow and arrow in his hand and held the small boys hands and showed him how to hit the Bulls Eye and hit the Bulls Eye. Now the Master Clapped and said - that was a perfect shot.

Moral: Do all the work with utmost Devotion and without a pinch of pride that you are the master in that Act.  Most of the time we think and assume what we do is the best and nobody can beat us. And the pride that we are the best would eat up our senses that even a small failure would wreck us.
