1. Good Speaker

The ability to speak with diverse individuals is an absolute demand for success.

For example, in a friendly eye contact, a rich vocabulary and the ability to customize the language we use with the speaker also hold the role.

So, practice talking courteously with whoever we meet in daily life or join a discussion group to hone debating skills.

Ability to manage time does not mean we have no spare time for yourself, you know. This is precisely the key factor in our success compares doing everything in a timely and better quality. Do not procrastinate, set your goals challenging but realistic, and take advantage of time as efficiently as possible.

Do not be afraid of extra work if it intends to find a solution. Remember, the person who eagerly challenged to handle the hurdles instead. Essentially, do not be limited to content on a routine.

Lucky Dog....

Lucky Dog....

Anyone who has pets will really like this. You'll like it even if you don't and you may even decide you need one!

Mary and her husband Jim had a dog named 'Lucky.'   Lucky was a real character.

Whenever Mary and Jim had company come for a weekend visit they would warn their friends to not leave their luggage open because Lucky would help himself to whatever struck his fancy.   Inevitably, someone would forget and something would come up missing.

Mary or Jim would go to Lucky's toy box in the basement and there the treasure would be, amid all of Lucky's other favorite toys.     Lucky always stashed his finds in his toy box and he was very particular that his toys stay in the box.

It happened that Mary found out she had breast cancer.   Something told her she was going to die of this disease......in fact;  she was just sure it was fatal.

She scheduled the double mastectomy, fear riding her shoulders.   The night before she was to go to the hospital she cuddled with Lucky.   A thought struck her....what would happen to Lucky?   Although the three-year-old dog liked Jim, he was Mary's dog through and through.

If I die, Lucky will be abandoned, Mary thought.  He won't understand that I didn't want to leave him! The thought made her sadder than thinking of her own death.

The double mastectomy was harder on Mary than her doctors had anticipated and Mary was hospitalized for over two weeks.   Jim took Lucky for his evening walk faithfully, but the little dog just drooped, whining and miserable.

Finally the day came for Mary to leave the hospital.   When she arrived home, Mary was so exhausted she couldn't even make it up the steps to her bedroom.    Jim made his wife comfortable on the couch and left her to nap..

Lucky stood watching Mary but he didn't come to her when she called.    It made Mary sad but sleep soon overcame her and she dozed.

When Mary woke for a second she couldn't understand what was wrong.   She couldn't move her head and her body felt heavy and hot.   But panic soon gave way to laughter when Mary realized the problem.  She was covered, literally blanketed, with every treasure Lucky owned!

While she had slept, the sorrowing dog had made trip after trip to the basement bringing his beloved mistress all his favorite things in life.

He had covered her with his love.

Mary forgot about dying.   Instead she and Lucky began living again, walking further and further together every day.   It's been 12 years now and Mary is still cancer-free.   Lucky.   He still steals treasures and stashes them in his toy box but Mary remains his greatest treasure.

Remember.....live every day to the fullest.  Each minute is a blessing from God.  And never forget....the people who make a difference in our lives are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards.   They are the ones that care for us.

If you see someone without a smile today give them one of yours!   Live simply.. Love seriously.   Care deeply.   Speak kindly.   Leave the rest to God.
 A small request

All you are asked to do is keep this circulating.

Dear God, I pray for the cure of cancer.

Amen

All you are asked to do is keep this circulating, even if it is only to one more person, in memory of anyone you know that has been struck down by cancer or is still fighting their battle.

Why Me?

Why Me?

Arthur Ashe, the legendary Wimbledon player was dying of AIDS.
From world over, he received letters from his fans, one of which conveyed:
"Why does GOD have to select you for such a bad disease"?

To this Arthur Ashe replied :

The world over
5 Crore children start playing tennis,
50 Lakh learn to play tennis,
5 Lakh learn professional tennis,
50,000 come to the circuit,
5000 reach the grand slam,
50 reach Wimbledon,
4 to semi final,
2 to the finals,
When I was holding a cup I never asked GOD "Why me?"
And today in pain I should not be asking GOD "Why me?"

Be thankful to Lord for 98% of good things in life.

Positive Thinking change the world

Positive Thinking change the world

Mindful eating has loads of benefits – even the Harvard Medical School agrees. The premier institute has published an article in its health e- news letter on the benefits of mindful eating. Mindful eating involves being fully aware of what you are eating, how it feels to your tongue – basically enjoying the sensation of eating.

A research conducted at National institute of Health (NIH), jointly funded by the Indiana State University and Duke University found that those who mediated on their meals enjoyed their food more and could control their eating better.

It also helps a person differentiate between emotion – induced hunger (False Hunger) and physical hunger (true Hunger)

Attitudinal Medicine intake – “if you think a medicine will work for you, it will. If you think it will not, it will not.” – a statement generated on the basis of the study published in the Science transnational Medicine. The research team applied heat to the legs of some healthy people. The subjects were then given medicine intravenously. When the subjects expected the treatment to work, it did. Brain scan of the subjects revealed that when we expect positive treatment, it increases activity in the cingulo – frontal and sub cortical lobes of our brain. When our expectations are negative, the medial frontal cortex and hippo-campus fire up.

So the next time you take something, first believe that it work for you and your brain will do the rest.

Six Tips To Stop Smoking

Six Tips To Stop Smoking

People are fond of socializing: parties, business meetings, conferences, and seminars. And it is during these functions that a person feels an intense pressure to fit it with the crowd. If people drink, chances are, you would also have to drink. If a majority of the people in the group smoke, there is a big likelihood that those few who don't smoke choose to learn to smoke so that they can mingle with those who do.

Smoking is a nasty habit to get started on. Thanks to its nicotine content, cigarettes can be highly addictive like other narcotics such as cocaine or heroin. The nicotine tends to hit the central nervous system by giving it a fleeting feeling of calm. Like other narcotics, the body easily gets used to the nicotine, and pretty soon it will be craving for more. It is then that people understand that the smoking habit has got them hook, line, and sinker.

A lot of smokers can attest to how difficult it is to get rid of their nasty smoking habits. They have gotten so used to it that they feel like their day lacks something important if they fail to puff even a stick of cigarette. How does one begin to quit smoking and keep their promises to remain smoke-free? Here are some quick and easy ways to stop smoking:

1. Prepare yourself for the battle you’re about to face.

Admit it. Your biggest opponent here is your self - your will and determination to say no to cigarettes. Psyche yourself up, think only of positive thoughts. Negativity will only make you lose your drive to quit easier.

2. Make a list.

Jot down every reason you have in mind to want to quit smoking. List down all the positive effects quitting will bring you. Write down all the activities you can enjoy once you’ve let go of smoking. This gives you something to look forward to when you’ve finally achieved your goal.

3. Condition your body.

Get started in a moderately-paced exercise routine that will help get your body in the best condition to fight your cigarette cravings.

4. Mark the date.

Set the date when you will finally quit smoking. Make it sacred, let nothing or no one break it for you. It may help that you make the quitting date fall on a significant date to make the event something to look forward to.

5. Know what you’re getting yourself into.

Keep your expectations simple and attainable. Over-expecting may magnify little failures. Understand what you’ll be battling while trying to quit. You’ll experience withdrawal symptoms, but these symptoms will pass in a matter of minutes, it is just a matter of holding on to your will a little longer than usual. It is also best to keep in mind that most quitters never got what they wanted in their first tries. So don’t be too hard on yourself if you’ve failed a few times before.

6. Gradually cut back on the amount of cigarettes you light.

It doesn’t help to abruptly deprive yourself of the cigarette and nicotine intake that you’re body has gotten used to. Something as little as one stick every one or two weeks will help your body ease out of your usual nicotine fills.

=====
  1. Worrying Accomplishes Absolutely Nothing.
I don't know about you, but I don't have any time to waste these days. And worrying is a waste of very precious time. Worrying won't help you solve a problem or bring about a solution, so why waste your time and energy on it?

  2. Worrying is Not Good for You.
Worrying is destructive to us in many ways. It becomes a mental burden that can even cause us to grow physically sick.

  3. Worrying is the Opposite of Trusting God.
The energy that we spend worrying can be put to much better use in prayer. Here's a little formula to remember: Worry replaced by Prayer equals Trust.

  4. Worrying Puts Your Focus in the Wrong Direction.
When we keep our eyes focused on God, we remember his love for us and we realize we truly have nothing to worry about. God has a wonderful plan for our lives, and part of that plan includes taking care of us. Even in the difficult times, when it seems like God doesn't care, we can put our trust in the Lord and focus on his kingdom. God will take care of our every need.

    "Do not worry; eat three square meals a day;
    say your prayers; be courteous to your creditors;
keep your digestion good; exercise; go slow and easy.
Maybe there are other things your special case requires to make you happy,
but my friend, these I reckon will give you a good lift."
    Abraham Lincoln

Learning To Recognize Your Ego

Learning To Recognize Your Ego   By   Sonia Devine
http://www.awakenin g-intuition. com/LearningToRe cognizeYourEgo. html

Learning To Recognize Your Ego

Is your self image controlling your life? Do you often worry about what others think of you? Learn to recognize the ego, and find out the difference between who you thing you are and who you REALLY are.

What is an ego?

Well, in case you didn't know it, we all have one. The ego is the logical rational part of your mind that allows you to separate yourself from other people. You use it each and every day to weigh up situations, people and circumstances in the process of making rational decisions. When I say "I am Sonia Devine", I am identifying with this part... MY ego.

Sometimes the Ego is associated with an inflated sense of pride or arrogance. As an example, when we talk about a person who is behaving arrogantly, people often say this person has a "huge Ego".

But it's a lot more than that. It has a definite purpose. It is responsible for organizing the different elements of the Self to create some wholeness and integration. All of us require this to function effectively as human beings.

So how does this fit in with your self esteem? When we focus too much on this part, we begin to become separated from the rest of humanity, and outside forces have more control over us.

For example, does the quality of your self image rely on any of the following?

- How much money you have - What you do for a living - Who you know - How you look - Where you live - What kind of car you drive

If you are defined by what you do for a living, then your self esteem is at the mercy of this factor. So if you lose your job, where does this leave you? Would you still like and respect yourself if you were broke?

It is within your nature to be conditioned to go after these superficial achievements, but I'll let you in on a secret; they have absolutely nothing to do with who you are! You're so much more than your physical body. Your soul is perfect just as it is, and it will continue to live on after you exit the Earth.

All of us are connected by collective consciousness. When you are able to see past the ego, you learn to cultivate true self-reliance.

You accept yourself as the perfect being that you are AT THIS VERY MOMENT - not for who you will be once you have had your hair fixed or gotten in with the right crowd.

When you can get past the ego, you experience true self love - and this comes from your higher wisdom.

Your knowledge, your compassion, your strength are perfect - and these things are permanent.

Have a Blessed Day!

The Law of the Garbage Truck

The Law of the Garbage Truck

One day I hopped in a taxi and we took off for the airport. We were driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us. My taxi driver slammed on his brakes, skidded, and missed the other car by just inches! The driver of the other car whipped his head around and started yelling at us. My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean, he was really friendly. So I asked, 'Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!' This is when my taxi driver taught me what I now call,'The Law of the Garbage Truck.'

He explained that many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it and sometimes they'll dump it on you. Don't take it personally.

Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on. Don't take their garbage and spread it to other people at work, at home, or on the streets.

The bottom line is that successful people do not let garbage trucks take over their day. Life's too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, so ... Love the people who treat you right. Pray for the ones who don't.

Life is ten percent what you make it and ninety percent how you take it!

Have a Garbage-Free Day!

Correct Way of Eating Fruits

Correct Way of Eating Fruits

EATING FRUIT - Guide

We all think eating fruits means just buying fruits, cutting it and just popping it into our mouths. It's not as easy as you think It's important to know how and when to eat.

What is the correct way of eating fruits?

IT MEANS NOT EATING FRUITS AFTER YOUR MEALS! - FRUITS SHOULD BE EATEN ON AN EMPTY STOMACH.

If you eat fruit on an empty stomach, it will play a major role to detoxify your system, supplying you with a great deal of energy for weight loss and other life activities.

FRUIT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FOOD

Let's say you eat two slices of bread and then a slice of fruit. The slice of fruit is ready to go straight through the stomach into the intestines, but it is prevented from doing so.

In the meantime the whole meal rots and ferments and turns to acid. The minute the fruit comes into contact with the food in the stomach and digestive juices, the entire mass of food begins to spoil.

So please eat your fruits on an empty stomach or before your meals! You have heard people complaining - every time I eat water-melon I burp, when I eat durian (fruit from Asia with a foul smell yet delicious flavor) my stomach bloats up, when I eat a banana I feel like running to the toilet etc. - actually all this will not arise if you eat the fruit on an empty stomach. The fruit mixes with the putrefying other food and produces gas and hence you will bloat!

Graying hair, balding, nervous outburst, and dark circles under the eyes - all these will not happen if you take fruits on an empty stomach.

There is no such thing as some fruits, like orange and lemon are acidic, because all fruits become alkaline in our body, according to Dr. Herbert Shelton who did research on this matter. If you have mastered the correct way of eating fruits, you have the Secret of beauty, longevity, health, energy, happiness and normal weight.

When you need to drink fruit juice - drink only fresh fruit juice, NOT from the cans.. Don't even drink juice that has been heated up. Don't eat cooked fruits because you don't get the nutrients at all. You only get to taste.
Cooking destroys all the vitamins.

But eating a whole fruit is better than drinking the juice. If you should drink the juice, drink it mouthful by mouthful slowly, because you must let it mix with your saliva before swallowing it.

You can go on a 3-day fruit fast to cleanse your body. Just eat fruits and drink fruit juice throughout the 3 days and you will be surprised when your friends tell you how radiant you look!

KIWI: Tiny but mighty. This is a good source of potassium, magnesium, vitamin E & fiber. Its vitamin C content is twice that of an orange.

APPLE: An apple a day keeps the doctor away? Although an apple has a low vitamin C content, it has antioxidants & flavonoid which enhances the activity of vitamin C thereby helping to lower the risks of colon cancer, heart attack & stroke.

STRAWBERRY: Protective Fruit. Strawberries have the highest total antioxidant power among major fruits & protect the body from cancer-causing, blood vessel-clogging free radicals.

ORANGE: Sweetest medicine, eating 2 to 4 oranges a day may help keep colds away, lower cholesterol, prevent & dissolve kidney stones as well as lessens the risk of colon cancer.

WATERMELON: Coolest thirst quencher. Composed of 92% water, it is also packed with a giant dose of glutathione, which helps boost our immune system. They are also a key source of lycopene - the cancer fighting oxidant. Other nutrients found in watermelon are vitamin C & Potassium.

GUAVA & PAPAYA: Top awards for vitamin C. They are the clear winners for their high vitamin C content. Guava is also rich in fiber, which helps prevent constipation. Papaya is rich in carotene; this is good for your eyes.

Getting rid of stress -- How to relieve stress

Getting rid of stress  -- How to relieve stress

Stress are some things that many individuals suffer with and they live day by day with getting head aches, experiencing fatigued and several other health problems.

At first, these health conditions may appear small but if the stress is not handled they can get really big and really serious.

It really is super easy to lessen stress but in order to do the person must want to change.

The way to overcome stress is so simple but yet hard for those who endure it everyday.

To start with inhale deep, and then out. Do this more than once until you start feeling calm.

Once you start to feel better look around you and begin to appreciate life. Be fortunate for the day no matter the number of bad things have happened to you. Spread a few words of encouragement around. Convey to someone that you are pleased that they're working for you and give thanks to them for assisting you out. The law of attraction will start to come about when you start becoming grateful for little things such as a friendly relationship and the job you have. Ever thought about why somebody else might be better off or sometimes got promoted ahead of you? Part of it might be because of the negative atmosphere you have happening around you and to ensure those atmosphere to come off we have got to observe life in an alternative way. Once you are tired of having problems and being stomped on you'll hopefully learn to recognize that it is just not worth it in life so you will support other people and brighten their day.

You would be surprised about how stress might not only effect you just how much it can effect the other individuals around you. When you are trying to watch a game on tv and someone comes in angry and starts to make a complaint about their day it takes away your amusement of the game and may perhaps even change your mood. If you are working and you are always stressed, or if you are trying to lose weight and stressed out about that instead of making other people near you despondent or aggravated on you perform some relaxation meditations and point out some affirmations out-loud. Seek to change your mood as soon as you feel the stress come on. One example is "I am slimming down and my boss is happy with my work". At the time you begin to voice one of those never state it as the future tense but constantly in the now tense: IE: I am, not I will be".

Yet another way that one could overcome anxiousness is just simply going out for a stroll or doing a bit of exercising.

The change of scenery and getting the bloodstream moving helps out.The good thing is you really don't even have to do a 30 minute stroll or a one hour work out. All that you'll need to do is just a 10 or 15 minute walk and you'll feel much better. If you can't walk but possibly have some stairs going up and down those for a couple of minutes works just the same.

If you think that the stress that you experienced is so unmanageable and there is no way you could correct it or if you might be struggling with major depression talking with your doctor or therapist may well be the greatest alternative as they can provide you with either medication or some guidelines to get over it

Attitude Is Everything by Jim Rohn

Attitude Is Everything by Jim Rohn

The process of human change begins  within us. We all have tremendous potential. We all desire good results from  our efforts. Most of us are willing to work hard and to pay the price that  success and happiness demand.

Each of us has the ability to put our  unique human potential into action and to acquire a desired result. But the one  thing that determines the level of our potential, produces the intensity of our  activity and predicts the quality of the result we receive, is our attitude.

Attitude determines how much of the  future we are allowed to see. It decides the size of our dreams and influences  our determination when we are faced with new challenges. No other person on  earth has dominion over our attitude.

People can affect our attitude by  teaching us poor thinking habits or unintentionally misinforming us or providing  us with negative sources of influence, but no one can control our attitude  unless we voluntarily surrender that control.

No one else “makes us angry.” We make  ourselves angry when we surrender control of our attitude. What someone else  may have done is irrelevant. We choose, not they. They merely put our attitude  to a test. If we select a volatile attitude by becoming hostile, angry, jealous  or suspicious, then we have failed the test. If we condemn ourselves by  believing that we are unworthy, then again, we have failed the test.

If we care at all about ourselves, then  we must accept full responsibility for our own feelings. We must learn to guard  against those feelings that have the capacity to lead our attitude down the  wrong path and to strengthen those feelings that can lead us confidently into a  better future.

If we want to receive the rewards the  future holds in trust for us, then we must exercise the most important choice  given to us as members of the human race by maintaining total dominion over our  attitude. Our attitude is an asset, a treasure of great value, which must be  protected accordingly. Beware of the vandals and thieves among us who would  injure our positive attitude or seek to steal it away.

Having the right attitude is one of the  basics that success requires. The combination of a sound personal philosophy  and a positive attitude about ourselves and the world around us gives us an  inner strength and a firm resolve that influences all the other areas of our  existence.
